“Tricia and Verona's - Ho Chi Minh City's Great Tailor Sisters”

So here's the deal. I got a fantastic flight deal to come to Vietnam and figured since I was here I should get some tailoring done for far less than it would cost in my home country. I looked over online reviews before deciding on a few tailors, visited my list when I arrived in Saigon and selected Tricia and Verona to be my tailors. Their shop is downtown in District one on the same street as the Sheraton hotel.

I had three 3-piece suits and seven shirts ordered. Now I know from talking with Hong Kong Tailors on my visit there if you want a proper tailored suit, it should take no less than three fittings. You will find lots of places that say they can do a suit in a day. You can perhaps get a dress shirt in a day, but not a proper suit. I would recommend you avoid those places. Generally quality is poor for those types of tailoring such as poor stitch quality, and I have heard that sentiment echoed from a few other travellers along my journeys who have gone that route. For anyone who thinks hey I can get tailoring done in 24 hours, well you won't get the exact fit and finish you are hoping for. Give yourself a couple of days.

Anyways, I first met the younger brother one morning and picked out the design and fabrics I wanted for my order. They have a wide variety of selections to choose from. I know relatively what I was looking for, so this was easy. The brother took the initial measurements that morning and I came in later that evening for the first fitting. That's when I first met Verona. She is absolutely wonderful and due to my travel plans I came back several days later for the next fitting. On my next fitting Trisha found a few things she wasn't happy with on the suits, and shirts, so I arranged to come back the following day. My third fitting Verona just wasn't quite happy with the back of the suit. I could've come in the next day for the final fitting, but gave them until the following evening as Rome wasn't built in a day and I was more than happy to have the job not rushed. My final fitting went exactly how I thought it would, everything is perfect and I couldn't be happier. They are just amazing tailors and amazing people.

I spent a lot of time in the shop just chatting with the both of them and I have learned quite a bit. That being said, from reading negative reviews about tailoring in general I have came across two trends, somebody has and idea in their head, asks the tailor to make it, and then isn't satisfied. If you are unsure of what looks good, ask their opinion. I know what I wanted and this isn't my first suit, so I have an idea of what works. If you don't, just ask. Tricia and Verona will help you through the process. The other reasons for bad reviews is that someone doesn't say they are unhappy with what they got. The big question is did you tell them and see what could be done, or were you in a rush? They are tailors, not mind readers. My tailoring experience with Tricia and Verona has been a top notch experience, but I had ample time and had done my research. I would highly recommend Tricia and Verona to anyone who needs a tailored suit or shirt. Most of the customers of whom I saw were in the store were younger professional types which is a positive in my book.

I know they do woman's clothing as well, but I can't say more as I didn't order any. The few dresses on the mannequins looked good, and I saw more than a few woman in the store between my fitting appointments. At the end of the day, they are fabulous tailors and I am glad that I chose them. 5 Stars to these wonderful ladies.
